A Contest

The fearless leader of our local paper craft group has left us.  ABE (Allentown, Bethlehem, and Easton) will be lost without a papercraft group, (well at least myself, Joanne and Nancy will be).  We have decided to start a new one as our leader has moved the meet up to Denver, CO with her. 
Nancy and I have tossed a few ideas around, but I am not sure any are to our great satisfaction.  So I am opening it to all of you.  
Here's what we mean to accomplish:
- be a creative meet up group revolving around paper but not really scrapbooking (there is a huge scrapbook meetup in the Valley already)
- Nancy and Joanne are Operation Write Home card makers
- We will do traditional stamping, card making, and all the crackpot stuff that I come up with
- Nancy and Joanne are VERY skilled and willing to teach new folks
- I am just weird and doing my recycling efforts but I did a show and tell an envie booklets and deco tape
- We also trade "unwanted" goodies  - meaning "I can't use it, can you?"  which is how I got my new favorite zebra tape!

Just leave the name suggestion below with an email. The best name (as we decide it) will win something out of my extensive stationery and postcards and paper goods stash (think stuffed 8 x 10 padded envelope)

Idea for a Blogoversary Give Away

Hello all,
My one year blogoversary is coming up and I have been thinking about releasing some more of my stationery out into the world.  After my recent purchases at Goshen, the boxes are now overflowing with goodness.  So much goodness that if I stopped buying materials and just used what I have, I could write for the next 5 years without any issues.  Yes, it's that out of control- the first step is admitting you have a problem.

    Anyway, I was pondering a contest of sorts.  In light of my recent post on recycling- I was considering a recycling or upcycling contest.  I would have my fellow coworkers judge it and pick out what they considered the most inventive use of materials.  Entrants are open to all sections of the world.  They must include the following contact information: A name (pen names are fine), address, and email.  And if it's hard to guess what you used as your materials- please enlighten me! )  It may mean the difference between winning and not. 
  A note on email- part of the reason I would like that is to tailor the package to your tastes.  I have a wide variety of postcards and premade stationery but I could also send raw materials like paper, rubber stamps in my collection, used postage stamps, and so on.
  If this sounds good to all of you, let the give away begin!  Mail entrants must be received by October 8th.

And the Winner IS

Hello all,
I hosted an international stationery give away contest that got off to a rocky start.  But after awhile a few entries trickled in. Technically the give away ended on July 4th - but with mailbox issues I could not check for final entries till today.  And low and behold there was one more!

The winning number was 77.  Chosen by my good friend Carrie who also went to Washington D.C. with me.  She sent me the number via mail.

So who won?  Technically Juanita did with the #52, but I think all entrants deserve a little something- so I will be sending out some stationery for all!  Believe me I have enough!

The First International Stationery Give Away

Hello All!
Recently I did a give away for USA and Canadians only.  I have been toying with the idea of doing one for the rest of the world and I finally decided on what to give away.
From what I am told, stationery is cheap and widely available in the USA compared to many European countries.  Stationery and finding a good deal are 2 of my favorite things and because I seem to excel at both, I thought I'd share the wealth! I would like to send out a small package of stationery and stickers to somebody who would truly love it and may have difficulty acquiring it themselves.  I am going to make this contest similar to the CSN give away but it's for anybody outside of the US - Yes Canada, I'll let you guys enter this one too!

One of the many amazing deals I have found!  These are from Ireland originally.

So here's the plan:
Entry will be by mail!  I have a P.O. Box so let's use it! 
Please send me a postcard or letter with a number between 1 and 100 and your email*.  I will have a pen pal send me a number in the mail and the closest number to the selected number without going over, will be the winner. 
In the face of a tie, (2 folks with the same number), the person following this blog will win.  If there two that qualify-(well honestly I'd probably send you both a package : ) ), but I draw the limit at 3 and would then put your names in a hat and draw a winner. 
Entries must be recieved by July 4th- a major US holiday celebrating our Declaration of Independence.  Why?- because holidays are easier for me to remember.  This should give a few months for entries to be received.  And if you include a return address, I will send you a postcard back just for entering!
I have no fixed set of stationery to give out.  This is also where email will be helpful, as I can get a better idea of what the person likes.  It could be a sampler pack of what I have in my collection to something more tailored to the individual- (within reason).  But it will be a small package of something lovely!
*The reason I want your email address is so I can inform you of winning and get a direct address.  I had a winner last year, and I could never get a hold of them via email and sent the package on blind faith that it would arrive, but I still don't know if it did.  So the email is to let you know its coming, confirm the address, and make sure it has arrived.  I'd hate for you to win and not get your reward.
