Kreat-a-Lope Giveaway

Hello all,
Recently I was contacted by the creator of the Kreat-a-Lope and he has launched another campaign this time for a variety of unique envelope sizes.  I am in love with the square ones and can see many, many gift tags and unique cards being fitted into these sizes.
I have helped Nick promote before and some of you may remember my previous critique of the projects, but here's the reminder.

Nick is looking for some sponsorship to get his product to market but has generously offered to give away a template to somebody who is reading this blog.  All you need to do is leave a comment with your email address below.  I'll let Nick help chose the winner next week!
Good luck and may the odds be ever in your favor!

Catching Up

Hello all!
I have been up to many things this week including focusing on the tremendous backlog of letters and I can proudly announce that I am 1 letter away from being caught up!   Hopefully a long holiday weekend will only increase my ability to put pen to paper and be ahead for once since last year.
As far as creating, I am still working on projects but the scrapbooks I've been in charge of are work projects and not suitable for me to show and tell here.  I will be announcing a contest shortly, so stay tuned!

As Read Green would say, "Keep your stick on the ice!"

Mail Social in DC and the $2 Inverted Jenny

Hello all!
I got an email today from the fabulous Melissa of Craftgasm telling me about the special celebration around the opening of the William H. Gross Stamp Gallery at the National Postal Museum.  Instead of an open social they are having folks register for a Mail Salon.  Check out the info and I hope to see some of you there!  I ended up registering for the 1:30 slot so I could be available for an festivities surrounding the inverted Jenny celebration.  I have been looking forward to this release, although I am not sure what I will use the stamp for.  Here's some info from USA Philately on the subject.
Happy Trails to You!

Bargain Shopping

I was at a discount store looking for rugs to help cover and protect my beautiful new wood floors.  While there, I stumbled upon these cool Amish Quilt Postcard books.  I may have went overboard buying them, but at that price!

That's right 99 cents a piece!  I know a few quilting pen friends who will appreciate a pack!

This Week Brings . . .

Hello all!
I hope your summers are going well.  The cicada are singing here which according to the old farmers means our first frost will follow in 6 weeks.  I do not think they are right in this area, but its a saying and probably right up north.
Anyway, what have I been up to this week.  Well I was camped out in the living room with the kitties while the hardwood floors I uncovered were finished!

BEFORE

There was a different carpet in each room and the hallway.  You can't see it, but this carpet is very very dated.

AFTER

Amazing that they covered these beautiful hardwood floors!

Also many folks that I correspond with ask about Lily, the foster cat.  She's doing well.  She's only lost a pound, but we are working on it.

I hope this finds you all enjoying the summer!

USPS to ship alcohol

In my efforts to get out the door early this AM, I heard the news that the USPS PostMaster General is wanting to get the bill through that would allow them to ship alcohol for flat rates.
I would love this!  I sure hope it goes through as I have often thought of sending wine to my friends but the daunting task (more inconvenient than daunting) of finding a shipper has limited me.
Here's the link

And as an FYI the bill has already been passed in the Senate in 2012.

Send William and Katherine a Congrats!

Hello!
I know I have not been posting much, but I saw this come across the Postcrossing Facebook fan page and I had to pass it along!
I am a royal watcher- from afar, nothing too sketchy, and I think I may have to send a card of congratulations to Prince William and Katherine.  Here is the link that will give you more details on the subject if you too are a little overly involved in watching the British monarchy's affairs. http://www.monarchist.ca/en/williamandkate/congratulations

Addendum:
One of my co-workers pointed out this was originally posted as a congrats for the nuptials.  I suppose it will work as a congrats on the baby too, right?

Enjoy and have a great day!
